Special Joy is a ministry for people with Special Needs and their families in Uganda. For those families we provide numerous services:

Healthcare (medication and therapy)

Special Joy Mission Uganda financially supports the families to take them to specialized medical care and provide medication and treatment if needed. We also provide all types of therapy according to the need of the special needs person. We work with professional therapists. We believe that people with disabilities also require good medical services for the betterment of their lives.

Education (schooling and therapy)

We believe in the potential of these people with Special Needs. That’s why we work together with inclusive schools and with therapists, and try to get sponsors.

Livelihood for the special needs person and family (relational, spiritual, practical)

Special Joy Mission Uganda provides nutrition and emergency food support to families. As the country we face malnutrition,, especially in children, which is caused by poverty and ignorance. We give food gifts especially on big days for example Christmas and Easter time for all special Joy Mission Uganda members.

Special Joy Mission Uganda does home visits to provide that friendship and encouragement. Life is full of challenges for people with special needs and their families. That’s why we want to be friends, build relationship, love like Jesus and encourage We hold Christmas parties and other celebrations.

Special Joy Mission Uganda does not only cater for the special needs person, but looks at the family as whole, because we believe these people with disabilities need their families to live a fulfilled Joyful Hopeful life. Without a source of income it’s hard for families to provide care and basic needs. If they are willing to take care of their family member with special needs, we appreciate that and want to help them to do that in the best way possible. That’s why we give out financial loans/gifts and follow up for the whole family to thrive for long term. That is why we offer business training and supporting the caretakers in beginning their businesses, so that they are in position of helping and raising their children living with the disabilities and relatives.

Advocacy and awareness

We believe that we can make a change in society. That’s why we participate in awareness days and spread the word about special needs amongst communities and people in leadership positions, including the church. We also host awareness events if possible. We are also willing to talk to people like landlords to raise awareness and stand up for people with disabilities and their families.
