Finding joy in special needs people and their families

Special Joy is a ministry for people with Special Needs and their families in Uganda. Special Joy started because we saw a need to encourage and support in the care for people with special needs (disabilities) and their families. That need is still there, so it’s our desire to continue with what we are doing.

Abigail's story

Resty is Abigail’s mother, and throughout Resty’s pregnancy she was fine and normal. She gave birth normally with no complications, but after 2 weeks Abigail developed a yellow skin (Jaundice) and she was taken back to hospital and she would cry a lot. She got better after a while, but her development was slow. She has Cerebral Palsy. The father left them because he couldn’t handle what was happening to his child.
